Monday 30 March–Friday 3 April

AA Weekly

Students, staff, members and alumni are currently based all around the world and are being connected with one another through local online forums.

The AA comprises a diverse community of individuals from across the world. Many students, staff and members of our association have travelled across the globe to stay with their families and friends, and to take care of their loved ones. Let us know where you are and how you are coping with working remotely by filling out this form for students, administrative staff or academic staff. Over the coming weeks we will be working together to set up local forums for debate and support all over the world on Teams. These will allow students, staff, members and alumni to connect with colleagues in their nearby area during these exceptional times. Join the London, Athens, Istanbul, Mumbai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Moscow or Beijing forums, or let us know if you would like to set one up where you are. Look out for more updates on the AA website.

Virtual Workshops

The Easter break is a time when students often begin to prepare applications for work opportunities and make plans for the future. With that in mind, we have organised a series of virtual workshops to ensure that this is still possible in spite of the current disruption. Join us for sessions including Career Advice with Boris Cesnik, Applying for Grants with Sally Stott and Visa Advice with Lauren O’Brien and Krishna Songara or morning coffee with Samy Hedin.

Social Media

Keep an eye out for regular updates across all of the AA social media channels. Our staff and students are producing new content that reflects on the current condition and the challenges that lie ahead. Follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Online Resources

Access to the AA network is possible using a VPN, and join us on Teams for meetings, tutorials and events. Instructions for VPN access and links to other online resources can be found in the members’ section of the AA website

Covid-19 FAQs

Michael Sorkin, 1948–2020
The AA is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of AA Honorary Member Michael Sorkin. A mentor and a light to many of us and a true agitator of architectural discourse, he kept architects closer to the streets, to the social and political issues of our time.
