Mail Job Definition - Workflow
To access the workflow page for a given job, select the desired job in the
job list, then select
Edit -> Open Mail Job Definition
from the menu (or go via the right-click menu of the job entry in the job list).
On this screen, the different steps required to prepare a mail job for delivery are arranged in their natural order. The order is defined by the dependency between the different steps. Some steps can be executed independently of others, while other steps may only be executed once the previous steps have been completed successfully.
Each step may appear in three versions:
- A green frame and a green check mark represent steps that have been executed and
completed successfully.
- An orange frame and a yellow double arrow represent steps that are enabled for execution,
but that have not yet been executed, or have not been completed successfully
during the last execution.
Steps that were previously green, but the dependency conditions
were changed when a preceding step was executed, are marked this way as well.
- A grey frame and an "x"-icon represent steps that are currently not enabled for execution, usually because the required preceding steps have not been executed yet.
Click on a step to execute it. Or click the Back to Mail Jobs Overview link at the top to return to the overview page for the currently selected mail job.
The Mail Job Workflow Steps
- Define Recipients
Define the recipients of the message.
Can be executed at any time.
- Define Message
Define and edit the content of the message.
Can be executed at any time.
- Define Tracking
Define the tracking behavior of the mail job.
Can be executed only after Define Recipients and Define Message have been completed at least once. Will become invalid and must be executed again if the Define Recipients or Define Message job parts change after tracking has been defined.
- Define Sender
Define the information about the sender of the message.
Can be executed at any time.
- Delivery Test
Execute a test delivery of the message.
Can be executed only after Define Tracking and Define Sender have been completed at least once. Will become invalid and must be executed again if any of the previous job parts change before delivery is authorized.
- Delivery Settings
Schedule the delivery of the mail job to take place immediately after authorization, when triggered manually, or at a future date and time relative to a selected time zone. Optionally, define automatically recurring delivery with a certain interval.
Can be executed at any time.
- Authorize Delivery
Authorize the delivery of the mail job. Once you have authorized the delivery, the message will be delivered according to the schedule that was defined in the delivery settings. If the message is scheduled for a future delivery, then the authorization can be revoked again until the moment of delivery.
Can be executed only after a successful Delivery Test has been executed completely at least once.
