AA Weekly

This week, nominated individuals from the Experimental and Diploma Programmes who have produced exceptional work in their Core Studies will present their projects to juries. Nominees for AA Writing Prizes and the Dennis Sharp Writing Prize will present their work on Wednesday, which will be open for members of the School Community to attend, and we invite everybody to participate in what promises to be a lively discussion and debate. Projects nominated for prizes in Communications and Media Studies and Environmental and Technical Studies will be exhibited online after the juries have taken place.

Speculative Studies

3pm BST, Sunday 26 April
All second year students must submit their course preferences for Speculative Studies by 3pm on Sunday 26 April. Read the seminar briefs or watch the course presentations from the 12 Speculative Studies Seminars and to sign up, visit Speculative Studies. A few places are available for Diploma, Postgraduate and PhD students.

Open Tutorials

1–5pm BST, Monday 27 April
Open Tutorials offer all students the opportunity to get fresh perspectives and extra advice on their design work during 30-minute feedback sessions. Come for a first come first served tutorial on the Open Tutorials Team or book a slot now

Online Counselling Sessions

Cultivating Focus and Wellbeing in Challenging Times

2pm BST, Wednesday 29 April
Chartered Clinical Psychologist Ana Ribeiro will be running the first in her series of online group sessions on mental health and wellbeing. This first session will provide students with useful techniques for cultivating focus and coping mechanisms for the challenges that we all face at present. Join the session





Career Advice

2pm BST, Thursday 30 April
Boris Cesnik, Careers Officer, and Paul Crosby, Head of Professional Practice, will be available to offer students advice about the next steps in their careers. The sessions are open to all current students who may be looking for information about preparing a CV and portfolio, applying for work positions and entering the professional sphere. CMS Lab

Software clinics

10am–5pm BST, Saturday 2 May
CMS Lab Software Clinics give students the opportunity to talk one-to-one with specialist tutors about any software challenges they have with the representation of their projects. The first session will focus on 3D Rendering, 3D Animation and Film. Sign up


Remote Computer Lab

The Remote Computer Lab will be open from Monday for students to access the AA’s computers and software remotely. An email will be sent to all students on Monday with details of how to access the Remote Computer Lab. For any questions email IT Support

Call for Writers and Illustrators

The AArcade

The AArcade, a new student-initiated publication, is currently looking for writers and illustrators. They aim to build a mechanism for reflection on our school and the design world through a healthy sense of humour. Contributions will be selected in free-form pitch meetings every two weeks. RE-screen

We invite members of the AA community to select lectures from our archive to re-present, re-contextualise, re-frame or even re-do in dialogue with the original speaker or an invited expert on the subject. Propose a lecture

AA Digital Worlds

The AA Digital Worlds have been created to enable the School Community to continue its academic ambitions, social gatherings and spontaneous experiments. This map can be used to navigate these online spaces, more of which will be added in due course. View the map

Bursary Application Forms

Spring Open Jury Submissions

Submissions are now open for students who want to present their work at the Spring Open Jury. Deadline for submissions is Thursday 30 April. Submit your work
